Press Release

Event freelance listing service launches

The Freelance List, a website that seeks to connect freelance event professionals with the event community, has launched. The website acts as an introductory platform between freelancers and the wider events community, allowing them to connect with each other.

The site was launched to fill the growing demand for a service that connects freelancers and event professionals beyond word of mouth or LinkedIn. It targets event professionals, who are able to browse the site for freelancers, either through searching via location or by job title. Similarly, freelancers are able to sign up to the site, and create an online profile that they control.

Freelancers available include site crew, riggers, artist liaisons, event producers and managers, social media assistants and content producers, photographers and security – to name a few.

The Freelance List is also an educational hub, which sources up-to-date news about the event freelance industry and legislation changes, as well as provide interviews, blogs and comment pieces.

Nicky Jenkins, freelance event producer, commented: “The Freelance List will give an opportunity for freelancers and employers to meet, network and build relationships. The website will also provide the opportunity for freelancers to be recommended for upcoming projects.”

Darren Adams, freelance event manager and consultant, said: “The Freelance List is a much needed service, connecting both freelancers and event organisers in an ever changing landscape. It gives both new and established freelancers an opportunity to build their client base and be on hand when companies require much needed support.”

The Freelance List’s project manager, Mya Medina, said: “Freelancers are the unsung heroes of the events industry. While Eventbrite estimates that there are 530,000 full-time jobs in the events sector, there are thousands of others who work on a freelance basis.

“The Freelance List caters to event professionals that are sick of posting directionless ‘freelance required’ signs on LinkedIn. We’re an innovative industry that prides ourselves on being bespoke and efficient, and that’s just what I want The Freelance List to offer – a great way for people to work together.”
